I invite you on a small journey to the Latvian cider producer Mr. Plūme in Jümprava.
Maris and Dace Plumes are entirely responsible for making cider from local apples and pears. They search and select the varieties themselves, tend the trees, harvest, press and ferment.
They learnt from the best cider producers in France and Austria, as well as from their own experience. Since 2010, they have been experimenting with different methods of cider and wine making.
"From apple to a glass of cider" programme:
10:00 AM: Gather for an aperitif at A. Pumpura 3.
10:30 AM: Depart by bus to Mr. Plūme in Jumprava (1 hour 20 minutes travel time).
12:00 PM — 2:30 PM: Visit to Mr. Plūme
Meet the producer. Stroll through the orchard. Tasting of 7 beverages paired with local cheeses. Optional purchase of ciders at a great price 😉.
3:00 PM — 4:30 PM: Lunch in Ogre on the "Senjorita Kukū" terrace (a three-course menu paired with ciders).
6:00 PM: Return to Riga at A. Pumpura 3 (1 hour travel time).
The events are held in Russian for persons over 18 years of age.
